Connections
What to link — Stripe, your calendar, email — what each connection lets the agent do, and why Meta ads need no connection at all.
This page is the map of what each connection unlocks, and what it deliberately does not.
A connection you have not made is not a bug: the agent will tell you it cannot do that thing rather than pretend it did. The reverse is also true — Meta ads need no connection at all, and the agent must never ask you for one.
Meta (Facebook & Instagram) — nothing to connect
There is no Meta connection to make. BizOS runs your campaigns on its own Meta ad account and Page, under its own business. You do not link a Facebook account and you do not grant permissions.
Settings → Meta connection shows the state of that managed setup:
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Connected | Your workspace is on a BizOS ad account and Page — campaigns can run. |
| Ad account / Business — "Managed by BizOS" | Normal. These are ours, not yours. |
| Not connected | Your first campaign has not been set up yet. It is assigned when you launch — you have nothing to do. |
This is what makes Ads possible. The one thing that is genuinely yours to do is funding the ad budget — see Ads & budget.
Exception — accounts linked before this changed. A few workspaces connected their own Meta account back when that was required. Those connections are still honored, still shown with their permissions and token expiry, and Reconnect Meta still refreshes them. New campaigns no longer need any of it.
Stripe — revenue, read-only
Settings → Stripe. Connect Stripe in read-only mode so your revenue shows on the dashboard.
Use a restricted key: Stripe → Developers → API keys → Create restricted
key, grant Read on Balance, Charges, Customers and Balance transactions,
leave everything else on "None", then paste the rk_live_… key.
That key cannot move money. It is there so the dashboard can show what you earned, nothing more.
Booking calendar
Settings → Booking calendar. Connect iClosed, Cal.com or Calendly with your API key to track booked calls — they appear on your dashboard and the agent can take them into account.
Two different things share the word "email", and mixing them up is the most common confusion:
| What it is | |
|---|---|
| App emails | Account creation, password resets, agent updates, lead alerts — sent to you. |
| Agent email | The agent sending messages on your behalf, to other people. |
Agent email is the control in the workspace. Turn it off and no new outbound message leaves, whatever the agent plans. Turn it on only once you have seen a few drafts you are happy with.
You can also ask to be notified — "Email me when my agent acts" — so you get its reports and actions in your inbox.
Payments — getting paid
If you want the agent to be able to produce a real payment link, your Stripe account has to be able to actually charge: account created, details submitted, charges and payouts enabled. Until then the agent will say payments are not set up rather than hand you a link that cannot take money.
What connections do not change
Connecting something never widens your spending limits. Ad budgets, Work Credits and the daily task cap are yours alone, and stay exactly where you set them — see Ads & budget and Billing.
